I am a young professional, father, and racial justice advocate.
I was placed in the foster care system as a child due to my family being homeless and my mother’s mental health issues. When l entered foster care, l had to learn that the temporary “foster” family were not meant to replace my family, but rather be an additional family. The lack of consistency or not having a permanent home or city to call home, made me feel like l didn’t have one place/home or geographical location to go to, made me into a very adaptable person.
I’m a young professional, mother, and great listener. My siblings and l were placed in foster care system due to our mother’s drug abuse issues. We were all separated for a while, until my sister and I were adopted together. It was such a relief to go through the happy and challenging moments together and not be alone. I can only describe my journey of success as a roller-coaster ride. I have accomplished a lot in my life today, which began the moment l decided to create my own path. l am passionate about helping other young people stay on the right track or path.
