This gathering will focus on discussion and problem solving rather than on formal presentation. Participants will be invited to come with a question or challenge they face, related to open contact, and forward it for discussion. Contact with birth family is rife with challenges. Adoptive and foster parents are faced with difficult decisions about open adoption, contact plans, relative placement contact/boundaries and how much to share with children.

It is essential that contact with birth family makes sense for not only the children but for the foster, kinship or adoptive parents as well. Sometimes children do not have to lose a family but simply can add one. Sometimes that is not possible.
Join us for a lively discussion.
