This workshop will focus on the increasing rates of childhood and adolescent anxiety. It will focus on symptoms related to anxiety and how it presents at home, school and in relationships. It will provide reasons why anxiety is increasing among this population. This workshop will provide effective and helpful tools for parents and caregivers to be effective when parenting children/teens with anxiety. It will provide case examples to help illustrate the reality of anxiety among this population along with tools that are helpful.

Heather Siek, Psy.D., LPCC is a licensed outpatient therapist at The Village Family Service Center in Moorhead, MN. She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology. Heather specializes in working with children, adolescents and families. She is trained in two evidence based trauma models, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Child Parent Psychotherapy. She is also trained in Parent Child Interaction Therapy, a behavioral treatment for young children. Heather also is an adjunct professor in the Psychology Department at MSUM.
