MN ADOPT and Lutheran Social Service Therapeutic Foster Care Present:
"Fostering Healthy Attachment" (A TWO-Part Series)
When children experience developmental trauma and attachment difficulties, foster and adoptive families often wonder why traditional parenting does not seem to help. This training will highlight the impact of trauma on attachment. Using some In Touch Again, Trauma-Focused Attachment Therapy and Theraplay techniques, we will provide foster parents with tangible, practical activities they can use with their foster children to increase a sense of belonging, fun, and attachment. Foster parents attending this training will:
-Understand the neuro-biology of attachment
-Foster a connection between parent and child through nurture and attunement
-Learn effective parenting responses
-Encourage a child’s self-esteem and sense of well-being
-Obtain a list of resources and self-care recommendations
-Bring joy, laughter, and fun to your family
